ok, preciso dormir, amanha deixo alguns comentarios aqui sobre a listinha

  2. Fabricio Zuardi Says:

  4. Fabricio Zuardi Says:

  5. Mickster Says:

Help! Hideout #48 does not play on my website. It just says ‘loading playlist…’

  6. Fabricio zuardi Says:

Hi Mickster, what is the url of your website? Maybe it is something on our part, please send me the url either here or on my email fabricio at gmail so I can take a look and see what is happening.

    Thanks!

  7. Androgene Says:

This company, Radio Hideout has Hihacked my music player at my web site filling the player with over 400 tracks and removing my own, i am an independent musician and i have some middle level compnay illegally hacking my own web page for profit and money !!!
If anyone can give me a damn mail adress (cause i can’t find it here) then im gonna contact the owners of this site, and give them hell for it. This is unfair, illegal and unethcial.
To anyone from the company reading this, i have logs of your entry dates and the addresses that you’ve hacked us from, even if you get your tracks off the player then i am still going to make sure you guys get what you deserve, before you do this to some other soul just trying to share their music with the world. And hell if im wrong , if just somehow 400 of the tracks from this site jumped into my music player by accident, well then fill me in, i find that hard to believe though.
My apologies for any roughness in my words, but hey, hacking someones elses web space is ILLEGAL, period.
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
All the best to those who’ll help.

  8. Fabricio Zuardi Says:

    Hi Mark,

My name is Fabricio Zuardi and I am the creator of the open source musicplayer http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net that has been used for several different artists, labels, podcasts, projects, bands and individuals for years and no one ever complained about being “hacked” or to get a playlist replaced without their consent. What you are doing is a serious accusation and I find it sad that your first email to me is already on that tone, specially considering that the only responsible for the player loading the default playlist (hideout’s ) instead of a different one that needs to be set using the playlist_url parameter as described in the documentation at http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/#documentation is yourself (or your webmaster).

Under normal circumstances I would simply tell you to fuck off and give your money back (wait, the player is free!), but since I am a nice guy, I will help you fix your own retard html code.

    1- what is happening:

your website http://www.androgenecollective.com/andromusicplayerpage.html has only half of the necessary code right, you embedded the player using an embed tag inside an object tag, and so, you need to specify the playlist_url in 2 places in order for it to work the same in both Firefox and IE, if you look at the line that says:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.androgenecollective.com/xspf_player.swf"/>

you see that ?playlist_url… is not there, so, as I said earlier… your own fucking fault

Tha player on IE cannot guess what is the url of the playlist you want it to play, so it falls back to the default playlist (the hideout one)

    2- why you are angry

you probably tested the website in only one browser and then one day when someone opened it on IE you instead of realizing that there was an error on your html came up with some random false accusation of hacking out of your ass.

    3- how to fix it

    replace the line that says:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.androgenecollective.com/xspf_player.swf"/>

    with:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.androgenecollective.com/xspf_player.swf?playlist_url=http://www.androgenecollective.com/playlist.xspf"/>

    Have a nice day.

  9. Adriano Says:

    Fabricio, you are the best!
    huahuahuhauhuahuahuahu
    And the nice guy too!

  10. Pat Says:

Is that a new version of the music player? How does one download it? I don’t see it on the Sourceforge page. Thanks!

  11. Fabricio zuardi Says:

Hey Pat, this new player is a fork of the original from sourceforge, this is the player used by Ning (http://ning.com) on their social-network-builder application, since we are experimenting with a network there and given the fact that the player looks cool we are also using it here :)

  12. Dan Tharp Says:

Big big thumbs up to you, Fabrico for the player….AND your “nice guy” response to Androgene! :O) Good man!
I’ve been looking around for various MP3 player options out there….perfectly willing to PAY for something if needed….but your FREE solution is (I think) the best solution out there!
I’m an artist who plans to use your player on my website (not completed…still working on it….so don’t laugh at it)….but I do have a question for you.
Is there an email/notification list I can get on to become aware of new versions you might produce in the future?
I’m using the ones off of sourceforce.net (musicplayer.swf, dated 3/20/2005; xspf_player.swf and xspf_player_slim.swf dated 4/5/2006)…..but if/when new stuff comes out I’d like to know about it.
Thanks! Keep up the fantastic work!
    Dan

  13. Fabricio Zuardi Says:

    Hi Dan,

    In the website: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=128363

There is an email Icon called “Monitor” just click there and login with your sourceforge account to receive the updates. This and the news RSS are currently the available options to get notified.

    Thanks for using the player!

  14. Pat Says:

Cool. It’s a little bulky for my tastes. I like the design of the old one better. I just like the ability to go back and forth in a song now. One of the few features I was missing from the old player. The Project Playlist one does but I don’t think you can install it on your own server. Do the star ratings do anything? If I want to use the new one where can I dl it? Hotlink? Thanks!

  15. Fabricio Zuardi Says:

you can download it and serve from your host, although I personally doesnt have anything against hotlinking, the url of the swf may change or even the player itself can break compatibility, so I would suggest to not hotlink it. As for the rating stars, I think they are only functional in the context of the network and you must be logged in. Outside of a ning network I believe they are close to useless, although you can use it to display one track’s rating by including this info on the xspf playlist.

  16. Terry Says:

    Hi Fabricio
first off I want to say thanks so much for your excellent work. I’m responding about the Androgene post. Obviously the guy was out of order but I can see why it happened. There are two tutorials that are linked to the sourceforge page:

    http://www.ic.sunysb.edu/stu/ahanley/music/help.htm

    http://forevergeek.com/articles/xspf_a_better_way_to_play_mp3s_on_your_site.php

I was testing in IE and I was stumped for ages until I did a Google search and turned up this page and got my answer (thankyou). Obviously though the tutorials could do with an edit.
    Cheers
    Terry
